What exactly does Beam Life mean and how did it come about?
What exactly does Beam Life mean and how did it come about?
Originally deriving from the Bronzeville neighborhood on the South Side of Chicago,IL; Beam Life refers to the innate possession of confidence, straightforwardness (Beam) towards Life success, sticktoitness, or consistency, with any personal goals, and the ability to achieve those goals, as it relates to overcoming any obstacles.
No matter who you are, or what prestigious background you may hail from, life has many obstacles and hurdles you most overcome in order to move forward in life, and prevail, if that is something you so wish to do.
The Beam Life brand is primarily about Uplift and Positivity represented and promoted though the purchase and wearing of our luxury street wear and quality fabrics.
Being that our CEO is a living Gen Z, birthed to Chicago's south side; as a teenager, he survived and bared witness to the 2012 spike of inhumane crime and gun violence that severely and negatively disrupted Chicago youth's (and others) everyday thought process, actions, and upstanding ways of being. Widely accepted, he believes the spike in killings and miscellaneous gun violence, is strongly correlated to that time period's (2011-2012) newly found profitable promotion and acceptance of drill music, which unnecessarily, directly, and indirectly caused the loss of many innocent young lives within Chicago. Unlike most at the time, as a 17 year old in the thick of it, this wave of negativity and gun violence caused our CEO to take a positive route other than the negative, and at the time more glorious, route that he was presented with.
In 2015, our CEO launched Beam Life to Uplift and combat the, at the time, popular notion in many of Chicago's Black neighborhoods and communities, that young and middle aged men should "make" themselves increasingly aggressive or "savage", due to the rise in popularity and clear acceptance of gang life, gang culture and gang terminology, promoted through the strong influence of Chicago's superstar drill music artists at the time.
Although our CEO is not against drill music, our CEO understood the ramifications of what unfiltered consumption of drill music could perhaps do to young and unseasoned consumers, and, as a 17 year old in 2015, he took it upon himself to promote a different image to and for Chicago's youth in attempts to steer them away from an unpromising, unforgiving, and ruthless street life in Chicago.
Beam Life is a state of (be)ing, best described as when you look good, you feel good and when you feel good, you perform good. Applicable to all situations in life.
"On Beam" often serves as a compliment to those with 4C quality hair, who have an aesthetically pleasing haircut or hairdo.
"Beam" has many other references and denominations, but most importantly, Beam Life has no true negative meanings. Beam Life can only correctly be used or referred to when referring to positive actions, upgrades, positive language, and, of course, any general positivity in life.
